15" wheels, need some help
i have a 2002 f150 4X4 with the FX4 package. will a 15" wheel fit on my truck. I wasnt sure if there would be enough clearance between the wheel and brakes. thanks for the help
yeah they will,if you have a grinder.i've got 15's on mine and they still rub a little on the rear caliper but i'm fixin it this weekend.you can grind down the caliper a little and the splash guard and they'll be fine.its nothin drastic they only rub a little, just enough for you to be able to hear it.i got my wheels from a friend with the same truck and he ran em for 2 years and he had bigger brakes
ok, thanks. a buddy has a set of 35x12.5x15 bfg AT and i wanted them but didnt know if i could get them to fit. if its just a littel grinding thats fine but i dont want to have to grind alot off
Keep in mind that there are very few 15 inch wheels available in out 5x135mm bolt pattern. Eagle Alloy make one in 15x10. THe problem is that it only has 2 1/2 inches of backspacing, which will make the wheel and tire stick way out and cause fitment problems. I don't think it is worth the headache. It will be a lot easier to go with a 16 or 17 inch wheel and 33x12.50's.
Good move. Also remember that if Ford caught wind of this you could kiss your warranty good bye. Also remember that grinding calipers is NEVER a good idea period. There are people out there saying "I've never had a problem".......YET. If something ever failed and you lost your brakes you think your insurance company is going to cover that? They'd drop you like a bad habit. Grinding calipers is playing with fire, but what do I know, its not like I haven't ever sold tires/wheels before or worked accidents from other things similar to this.

i have those wheels you're talkin about and they work fine on my truck and my friend had em for 2 years with no problems.and i'm not talkin about grindin 1/2 an inch off em just a little.they fit but they rub a little.grindin off that much is gonna make such a small difference that you'd never be able to tell.i'd like 16's but when i can have 15's (which tires are a hell of alot cheaper for) i'll take em.i'd rather not have such little back spacing but it works.

i don't have any pictures right now,but i can tell you it looks pretty damn good.they stick out about 2 inches so if you don't want em to stick out you better look for somethin else.i don't have the model # or anything cause i bought em from a friend and he bought em used.but i guess that eagle only makes one size wheel that'll fit so that's it.i didn't even have to grind anything.the noise just went away after a few days.that's how little they rub the caliper.just make sure you check the wheel lugs every couple of days to make sure they're tight if you get em.they seem to have a tendency to back off at first.i'm gonna try to get some pictures on here
