tire chains

I was wondering if anyone is using regular cut down truck tire chains for deep snow? Thursday I was elk hunting and ran into 20 inches of new snow, my old ford, aside from being an extremely bumpy ride could handle chains on all 4 no problem. My tire guy says nobody does that on newer rigs anymore. Anyone done this?

Talking Chains

Your tire guy must have been sniffing glue or snorting something or is just ignorant. If you are in Colorado (in the high country and off road) hunting or fishing chains are manditory. My Screw has no problems with chains nor do my tires seem to mind. Just thought I would add my 2 cents worth. Semper Fi
