Thumbs up Need New Rotors

I need help on trying to decide if i want to spend the extra money and buy slotted rotors for better stopping and maybe longer brake life or if i should just replace the old ones with factory new ones? Please any help would be great!!

I just relaced my pads and rotors. Initially I turned my stock rotors and they warped within two weeks.

I then replaced my pads/rotors with new "lifetime" USA made rotors from HI/Lo. $45.00 each. they are working beautifully.

I have not experience with slotted rotors, but it sounds expensive.

A tip for you is to use a quality grease when reinstalling your calipers.

Just my opinion, but I'd suggest that slotted rotors are more than most folks need for everyday driving. If you're towing or racing and really use your brakes really hard, that's another story. I went with Brembo replacement rotors from Tire Rack and couldn't be happier. The stock Ford rotors are junk. The Powerslot rotors that Tire Rack sells start with Brembos, then machine in the slots. Adding those slots costs quite a bit of money. Hope that helps.

I agree with everything in two stroked's post. I also bought Brembo replacements from Tire rack - excellent value. Could not justify the added expense of slotted or drilled. They look cool, but I doubt I would notice a difference in every day driving. I am sceptical of longer pad life claims for slotted/drilled rotors.

Stock rotors on Ford trucks have been a weak spot for years.

I also bought the OEM Brembos and couldn't be happier! And I tow a lot. I have about 40-45k on them now and not one single problem to report.
