Largest tires for a '96?

F150, Ext cab, 4x4, 5.8L...

Looks like it currently has the stock 15" wheels and 31" tires...what's the largest tire I can go on these wheels without rubbing (don't want to mess with torsion bars or trimming either)? I've searched all through the forums but there isn't much information on tires for this year/model & wheel size.

Thanks...

Your truck doesn't have torsion bars. It was the last year for the TTB front axle. Instead you have coils and radius arms. You don't get the easy height adjustment that the 97+ crowd gets. Anyways the largest stock tire you can fit without rubbing is most likely what you have now. You MIGHT be able to get a 32/11.5 to fit but you'll probably have some rubbing yet. A 33/12.5 tire will fit, but it will rub the radius arms and bumper pretty good. On my dads 91 F150 (same setup as yours just slightly different sheet metal) his 31/10.5 tires rub on the radius arms at full lock.

32/11.50/15's are about the max on the 87-96 4x4's.
