flukky things that go wrong...

Driving home from work yesterday in my 04 f-150, Heard a intense metal on metal, grinding sound, came out of know where as the wheals wre turning round and and round.

Took my truck into ford today and this is a fluky one, a rock got caught between the pass backing plate and roter, thuss causing the grinding noise.

Strange...Could have solved this one my self and saved $60.00 cdn, but all is ok with my truck.

what flukky, one in a million, snow ball chance in hell events have you expieranced?

My last flukky event was knocking the diff cover of my 02 f-150 on a paved highway, hit something while traveling forward at 60 mph, that one was expensive...

someone came in with a windstar left her van all day for us to fix (but i wasnt the one assigned to work on it) what she said was a real loud clunking noise. someone worked on it but could not duplicate the concern. she picked it up in the evenning and came right back. luckily i was the only tech around. so i went for a ride with her and she couldnt make it make any noise. then we hit a bump and is sounded like the subframe was going to fall out of the van or it had a broken spring. i had her pull over right away and went to check the spring and i found a big wallnut in the strut assembly. it was hard to pull out from between the spring. dont know how it could have got in there. but we had a good laugh about it and sent her on her way. i didnt charge her anything for it but she could have bought me a soda pop or something.
