1999 Parking Brakes

A previous owner removed all parking brake components from inside the drum - shoes, springs, pins, etc. - even the operating levers. The cables and pedal look fine and work smoothly. This truck has rear disks with drums for parking.

Ford appears to list the missing parts only as an assembly including the backing plate for just over $80 each (discounted). The operating levers are an additional $15 each.

Has anyone done a complete replacement using aftermarket parts and if so what is needed? This is apparently an unusual repair and the (4) local parts houses can't tell me if their "kits" would have everything I will need.

I have found listings for a Wagner hardware kit F139705 and a Raybestos kit H7303. Wagner has adjuster assemblies F139704.
Both manufacturers have the shoes.

I just don't want to buy the aftermarket items only to find something's missing - and have to buy the OEM assemblies anyway.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Good idea about junk yards.

I tried the yards (locally) that stock Ford trucks. At the end of each call, I would ask for a recommendation as to who to call next. Good leads but no luck.

Any suggestions as to yards that may be able to help (and ship)? We are near Birmingham, Alabama.
