Pro Comp AT Vs. BFG A/T

What are pro's and con's for these two tires?

I'm looking @ 33x12.5R17 or 305/70R17 Tires that will work great off-road (sand/snow).

Living in MN, i need a tire that works excellent during our 9 month winter season.

I was all for the pro Comps AT tire, but i hear it really sucks in teh snow. Any comments on them?

The pros of the BFG AT KO is great performance in basically every condition except mud, the tough 3 ply sidewalls, great treadwear and a smooth quite ride on the highway.
The con is the high price.

I had the Procomps on my 99 F250 w/procomp 6" lift. They wore really bad.

With a Daystar leveling kit, do you forsee any rubbing or issues with going with BF Goodrich AT KO 315/70R17 rubber? (Stock rims). I got a pretty good deal through a local hummer dealer on factory hummer take-offs with less than 5 miles on them.

Any one have these tires on with the daystar lift?

I found a set of 4 AT K/O's BFGoodrich for 600.00 at a local hummer deal. Tires and OEM Hummer Rims included for that price.

Now, only if i can find someone who wants 4 OEM hummer wheels real damn cheap, i would have a great deal.

Still, 4 tires for 600 isn't bad for those....

Unfortunately, these wheels on ebay sell for a dime a dozen. If i could get a hundred bucks for all 4 wheels shipped i would be doing pretty good.

Any suggestions on where to get this rubber at a decent price?

I had some Procomp A/T's and loved them... for awhile. Have had BFG's also and can say that they are very comparable to each other. Both are fine in the snow... not sure where you heard the ProComps are not, but I would disagree. My only complaint with the ProComps came when after 50,000mi I started having trouble keeping the bead sealed. I kept taking them in to get resealed because I had a good 10,000 miles of tread left. They do fit on the 8" rims, but barely and they can have trouble keeping the seal after time. Otherwise a great tire and fantastic milage!

Wandall,

Have you seen an 04 F150 with 315/70R17 rubber on stock 17" XLT rims?

I have the daystar leveling kit, but still am skepticle on rubbing.

I have an appt tomorrow morning in Minneapolis at a hummer dealership to pick up OEM take-offs....

I'm still real cautious on the deal due to them possibly not fitting on the truck.

Suggestions?

If you wish, please call to discuss! 218-349-0800 or 866-252-7114.

Thanks,

Casey
