Without doing any mods, 285/70-17 or 285/65-18. Both tires are essentilly 33x11.50's.

I'm in the same situation and don't know what to do. I have the FX4 with 18" and need to replace those BF rugged trail t/a. Besides the wrangler (suck also), there is no other tire that will fit that 7.5" rim. tHE TOYO open country (285/60-18) wont fit according to them (need an 8" rim). I started to look for 17" wheels but no one offers a +52 offset rim.....

Can you guys help me......

Even though it says you need an 8" wide rim to run those tires, they will work on the 7.5" wheels without a problem.

So you guys are 100% sure??? Wouldn't want to buy them and get screwed.....

So between the BF rugged trail T/A KO and the toyo what would you say is the best bet for snow and gravel roads and some sand?

Thanks again guys, you've been a great help.

Sorry about the Astros!!

People put tires that wide on stock rims all the time. That should not be an issue. As far as which tire you should choose, here is a decision you are going to have to make. As far as quality goes, I think the Toyo is going to be better. For the uses you listed, though consider this; you want a narrow tire (like the bfg) for snow and ice. Gravel roads really don't matter. In the sand, you are going to want the wider tire for better flotation (the toyo). Hope this helps in your decision.

Thanks again for all the great info.

I did make a mistake, I meant the BF all terrain KO which also comes in 285 and not 275. What I have right now is the rugged trail T/A

Then on the quality thing, I would have to say it is pretty close. The bfg all terrain does have a 3 ply sidewall, though, so that is something to consider.
