Hi, looking for some help here.

I have a '98 F150 XLT Flareside 4WD with the Off Road Package & factory 17" wheels on it.

I am looking to put oversize or flotation tires on it, but the number & style of tires in a 17" size are very limited.

Will a set of custom 16" wheels fit this truck without interfering with the calibers or other hardware?

I understand the speedo could be affected, and will be trying to keep the same "overall" tire height as the factory tires so as not affect the ABS.

Just need to know if the 16"s will fit without rubbing anything.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Yes, 16's will fit. I would suggest a 305/70-16 (33x12.50) on a 16x10 inch rim. THe 305's are about 1 inch taller and 2 inches wider than your OEM 265/70-17's (32x10.50). With this combo, you will have to crank up your torsion bars or trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance. Your speedo will be off a little, maybe 1 or 2 mph, but your ABS will not be affected.

Now I can order the Wheels & Tires I wanted. Looking at the Swamper Trxus STS All Terrain. Confirmed they are available in a 33 X 12.5 X 16!

Do I need to worry about any certain Backspacing or Offset with the wheels I buy, to make sure the 33X12.5's fit?

Most of the aftermarket wheels have 4 1/2 or 4 5/8 inches of backspacing, which is what you need.
