Tire question
Tire question
I found this site while looking for answers to a question I have about a new set of tires I bought. I cant find the original thread, So Ill just ask outright again.
I recently put new tires on my Bronco, 31x10.5 Liberators from Walmart. I chose the cheaper brand due to my Bronco needing new rubber underneath which causes feathering of my front tires. Its just not worth the extra money. My problem is this. While driving home with the new set on, I noticed extreme sloshyness in the handleing of my vehicle. When I changed lanes, I felt as if my Bronco was oversterering, Or yawing. I never experienced this with the old set of off brand tires. At first I thought one or two of the tires were underinflated. But that wasnt the culprit. The only thing I can think of is that the old tires had a touring type tread while the new ones tend to have an intermediate all-terrain tread. Will this bit of difference in tread type cause this extreme difference in handling? Quite frankly it scares me when I drive on the open highway.

First thing to check is tire pressure. Did the wall mart goons do the job right?
EDIT: I just re-read you checked... Hmmm.. shouldn't be the difference in type... bad set of tire maybe?!

imo
IMO I think its the extremely thick tread. Most tire tread is about a 1/4 inch new. The tread on these tires is about 5/8 of an inch. I think the high tread profile causes the handling Im feeling. Ill know for sure in about, Oh say, 35,000 miles. Thanks for yalls input.
