New Tires

I have read some of the postings regarding tires, in particular from Wal-Mart. I too am hoping to purchase a great tire at a low price. My truck has 255/70/16's, and I would like to find an optimal tire for mainly highway use. Has anyone tried the Yokohama Geolanders? I have also looked at the Goodyear Tracker from Wal-Mart. Anyone tried these?

I've read good reports on the Yokohama Geolanders and you usually see good prices on them. Just remember when shopping for tires that sometimes cheap is, well, cheap. Look for a good price on a quality tire and you will save money in the long run.

The Geolandars (Yes, I spelled it right) are what I have on Now. They were on there when I bought the truck with 66,000 KM (about 43K Mi) 5 months ago.

They Ride nice, and even with very little thread left, I am very impressed with the wet traction. I would even say somewhat incredible in wet traction given that they are what I would consider on their last leg.

I am however getting a new set of Dueler Revos put on This friday

From what I have read, the revos probably have a better Snow traction (Very important in New-Brunswick, Canada) and I think, better tread life as well.

The Tread pattern of the Revo and the Geolander.. oups, Geolandar are very similar. And also the OWL (Outside White Lettering) are very similar.

I hope I didn't confuse the matter even more

Dennis

I just had Firestone Destination LEs installed yesterday for $404 with tax. I feel this is a very nice tire and it has a lengthy warranty for a truck tire (60,000 miles). The tire is much smoother and quiet than the Generals that were origianal equipment.

I havent owned a set of the yokohamas but my friends who have had them experienced some premature wear. I recently got the nitto terra grapplers and i love them. Not trying to give you a pitch or anything, but these tires perform great and were priced great too. I got mine form disount tire direct with free shipping.

I agree with the Firestone Destination LE.

Just had them installed and wow what a difference from the crappy General Grabbers. Smooth quite ride. Mostly highway miles for me. 02 with 85,000 miles. $377.50 total for 4 installed. Bought 3 got one free.

Check tirerack.com for reviews on tires. The firestones had a 8.7 customer recommendation.
