Brake problems

Hi all...I was originally drawn to this forum thru the sportbike/cage post, but I won't go there...Anyhow...I have a 1992 ford 4x4 flairside that has been a pain in the a$$ since day one...I traded off a perfectly good chevy for this POS too...My main problem is the brakes...Most of the time I just plain don't have any...During the warranty the dealer totally rebuilt them about 6 times and told me they would take care of me after the warranty expired...NOT...After it ended I was on my own...I have heard that brake problems came standard and at no extra charge on the 92's...What can I do to get the problem fixed?

Go Back and trade it for one of those awsome Chevys. I hear they never have problems, are faster than a rocket . I get jealous everytime someone says the word Chevy.

I won't say Chevy doesn't have problems...The one I traded in was a 1988 Stepside 4X4 and on the 2nd after I bought it, the transfer case "fell out"...The dealer picked it up within 2 hours and scavenged another new one to get me back up quickly...It had 148K on it when I traded it in and the only trouble I had with it was replacing front brake pads once in 4 years and the clutch was replaced with about 147K on it...
I wonder how much chevy would give me as a trade in? 10.00? LOL...BTW...The ford has been sitting in my drive now for 3 years needing a tranny...I had a choice...Buy a new bike or buy a new truck...I chose new bike...Someday I'll get the truck fixed...LOL...

If the truck needs a tranny and has been sitting for three years........ Why the dumb post @ the brakes. Why don't you go screw around somewhere else and leave the rest of us alone.

BITE ME...It's an important question because I see no use fixing the tranny if I can't keep brakes on it...If you have nothing to add but a girly attitude then don't reply...It's that simple...

Refer back to my first post then! You dumb moron, how is anyone supposed to give you any kind of constructive help when you give almost no information at all about the specific problem. Your post is " my ford sucks, the dealer worked on it and said he would continue doing so forever. Now he won't and it broke". I can guarantee that sitting for 3 years is going to jack up alot more than just the braking system. As for attitudes...... yours won't get you very far on this board. Why don't you refer to my second post and go pound sand.

I refuse to be sucked into a **** fight by a dumbass with some kind of chip on his/her shoulder, so this is for anyone else who wishes to help...
It's common knowledge that the 92's have major problems with the front brakes...Anyone that knows anything at all on the subject should know exactly what I'm talking about...

nasty and pestco each make valid points. But if the truck sat 3 yrs with a bad tranny then weak brakes are a secondary consideration. For instance, who needs brakes if the tranny is busted.
