after using the search function many times ive came to the conclusion that the jury is still out on this issue so only positive answers please

id like to know if you can fit 35/12.50's on a 16x8 wheel on a stock 97 4x4 without having to put a lift on

285 vs 33's?

Jimmy, is there a difference in the height between the 285's and 33's? I found a aftermarket part that raises the front 2". I can't remember who makes it, but I think it's the only one available for the 2004 F-150 so far.I want the Toyo Mud terrian, but 35's are the smallest, plus they make too much noise. I want something that probably doesn't exist. I want aggresive as possible, but it must be quite on the road. This is my daily truck and 98% of my time is on the highway. Any suggestions? I usually go with BFG AT KO's.

Thanks,
Rich

a 33 is well 33" and 285's are like 32.8" i have 285's on my truck and it looks like i would have the room for an extra inch on each side of the tire to stuff a 35 in there

I've seen several stock 4x4 F-150's with 35's. They all used the stock wheels and the 315/70-17 BFG AT KO's. The secret seems to be using the stock rims. I think you are still gonna have minor rubbing at the least if you use a 16x8, crank up the torsion bars and trim the front bumper's lower plastic valance. Unless you plan on lifting the truck in the near future, I'd stick with 33's.
