Tire Storage

Have a basic question. I have four winter tires and a small space to store them. Is it better to store them tread down ( will that flat spot them) or on their sides? Don't plan on using them until winter.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I tend to store my tires on the side, but only because it is convenient for me, I had never thought of it creating a flat spot.

I do also take 5 to 8 lbs of air out and give the tires and rims a good cleaning before storing them and then cover them with an old blanket.

BTW, I have 2 sets of rims, so the tires stay on the rims.

Just my way of doing things
