?? on tire size, mph, gas mileage...

hello, i'm planning to get me a new set of rubber, it's 265/75/16 bridgestone dueler at. right now i got stock tire size on my truck, 1997 f150 2wd ext-cab, 235/70/16. the tires will be mounted on the stock wheels.
i'm getting around 18mpg on the 235 and was wondering how many mpg will i get on the 265. what about the speedo reading?
is it a good deal on the bridgestone dueler at for $115/tire installed locally?

thanks

simon

You will be going from about a 29" tire to a over a 31.6" tire, about an 8% increase.
expect to lose maybe 1 or 2 mpg. good news for you at least, on the 97 you can swap out that VSS gear in the back of your tranny to correct your speedo.

or you getting the new tires to get something taller, wider, or just different. you can get something with a little less side wall/ a 60 series tire, to pull you closer to stock height.

I have a 2004 F150 Heritage 4x4 and I did not like the stock 235/70R16s. I changed them out for the 255/70R16s and they fill out the wheel wells nicely. I calculated the mph difference by accessing this site: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp.

Hope this helps. DN
