New tires finally! 33" MT Baja Radials

So after much research I have purchased the MT Baja Radials in 33x12.50xR17. Cost about $800 for tires, mounting and balancing. I got the tires from Summit Racing in Ohio, I highly recommend them. Anyway, I have not gotten an aliagnment yet, and my front end does feel heavier as excepted (coming from 265/70/17's), but it feels like I have some play in the steering wheel. Also, the suspension feels loose when going over bumps. Should I crank my torsion bars a couple of turns? Do I maybe need new shocks (60k on the OE's)?? Or, do I just need an alignment. I will post picks soon, the new tires look great!

Thanks,
Rich

The play in your steering wheel is just steering lag caused by the taller sidewall of the new tires. It takes the taller tires longer to respond to your steering inputs than the stock size did, this is normal and there really isnt much you can do about it. Yes your shocks are toast, the stockers are barely adequate to begin with and now they have to deal with way more weight than they were designed for. Get a set a Rancho RSX or RS9000's and youll bet set. I dont think an alignment should be necessary.

Those are good looking tires. I was torn between them and the ProComps. I went ProComp, but you really have me considering them for my next set.

Looks good!

So far so good, they are due for the first rotation. But so far no noticeable wear. They are heaver than the stock (about 15 lbs heavier each) and there was s slight noticable power loss, but nothing a better air intake and exhaust cant fix.

All and all I would say great tire in all conditions...just waiting for the winter up here!

Thanks for the report. It is always good to hear about how products are working after a couple of months use.
