Unhappy Chrome or polished

What's the best route to go wheels? CHROME or POLISHED?

I'm sure there are some good and bad with each. If you got em, share them.

Thanks...

it all depends on your taste, color of your truck, and amount of other bright work on the truck.

a high quality chrome wheel will look good on most trucks, might be a little more work to clean - fingerprints etc. but chrome is classic, as long as the truck isn't just dripping in it.

Chrome. Why? You get snow & salt. A polished wheel looks like hell during the winter and unless you enjoy cleaning & polishing them in below freezing temps, chrome holds up better year 'round.

Then again, its all about YOUR personal tastes with your truck!

If you use the Interstate highway system during snow months you are better getting chrome - I know West Virginia for sure has taken to using "liquid ice melt" on overpasses and bridges that will burn aluminum overnight. Forget appearances, the mechanical fault is this stuff gets wicked into the bead area of aluminum wheels and gives slow air leaks since it defeats the clear-coat effortlessly.

The factory 17" wheels on my truck are starting to show chrome thinning out if you look hard, and a bit of corrosion around wheel weight areas but otherwise are in good shape for 60,000 miles and 5 Minnesota winters...

Thanks for the input guys.

I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio so I do drive on salted roads during the winter.

As for my truck color, it's dark green, with dark tinted windows.

It looks like chrome is the most maintenance free.
