Bigger Tires, Better Brakes?

I recently added a 3" body lift and 315/70/17s to my 2003 SCrew. Since then I've noticed a decrease in braking performance when towing my boat. Just curious, how can I increase my braking performance without replacing everything and breaking the bank?

I've read quite a few of the posts on this site and I understand that different aftermarket pads and rotors on the front will improve performance. What is the best bang for the buck? Should I start out with new pads (EBC?) all the way around or do I need slotted rotors as well? My rotors are pretty new at 18,000 miles and correct me if I'm wrong but slotted rotors just disapate heat better not improve braking, right? Will the ceramic pads wear out the rotors faster? Just looking for some advice from some people who have already gone down this road.

Thanks in advance...

Cermic pads with better rotors is a good idea. I used NAPA cermix pads with Autozone $35 rotors and the rotors only lasted a year. Then, I got the matching NAPA United Rotors which have been much better. The pads and rotors are about $180.

The EBC pads haven't recieve favorable reviews on here. Bendix Titanium are good along with the Brmbo OEM replacement rotors from Tirerack.

the slotted rotors get rid of brake fade by disapating the gases out the slots.

i have the ebc slotted rotors and pads on my 2wd and i like em. adjusted my rears and had to replace a brake hose at 115k so i just did both calipers and brake hoses bleed till all clear fluid came out and now the pedal is real firm and i cant remember it ever stopping that good before.
