New User Tire Question

Hey everyone. I just joined this site after I ran across it while researching tires. Does anyone have any experience with the Kelly Safari SUV tires?

I have a 2000 F150 Ext Cab 4WD.

I can get a pretty good deal on them right now, about $110 per tire(installed) for P255/70R16. I'm also looking at the Michelin LTX, which I can get for $150 installed. I know the LTX is rated pretty high, but I can't find anything good or bad on the Kelly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello TXinMD,

Kelly Safari's are good tires you have a few options. The Safari SUV is 4 ply tire with a "P" (Passenger Car) rating, made for a soft comfortable ride, but not as durable. The Safari AWR is a 6 ply tire with an "LT" (Light Truck) rating, an "LT" tire has a slightly stiffer side wall a stronger bead and is better for hauling towing and driving over rough roads. For a 4x4 I personal like the Safari MSR it also an "LT" tire with a more aggressive tread design. good luck!

Check it out.

Welcome!

Hi y'all! Welcome to F150online from Canyon Lake, Texas! I looked at the Kelly's when I replace my original Generals. I ended up with Cooper Dominator Sport A/Ts (265R70X16s). They work well for me for about the same price as the Kelly's. Probably not as aggressive as the Kelly, though. Good luck & welcome again!

Thanks to all who replied. I actually ended up going with a set of Yokohamas. They are one of the top rated tires on tirerack.com, and I got a set of 4, installed and out the door for $510.
