lug torque ?

Hey, what is the proper amount of torque for the lug nuts on the wheels? I have a 2001, but I am assuming that the answer will be universal for most vehicles, no?

It is not universal for all vehicles. Check the owner's manual or service book for each vehicle. Even in F-150s there was a change around 2000. There is an information packet wrapped in with your jack that has your exact lug nut torque. Mine is 150 ft/lbs., which is high compared to "average" cars at around 75-100 ft/lbs. with aluminum wheels.

Check the owners manual or the lug nuts themselves. On th 01 lug nuts it states the torque. Mine were 150ft lbs. My 98's were marked 100ft lbs.

OK

Thanks. I was not certain if it would be the same or not. I'll check in those places you've directed me to.
