For everyday and highway driving I think it is hard to beat Michelin's for performance and reliability. If you keep them rotated it is not unheard of to get 80,000 miles out of one set.

I've got 265/75/16 Michelin AT's on my truck. I love 'em

I have been pleased with Michelin LTX M/S 265/70/16.
I am expecting 80K+ also.

For a 2WD, I think the tread is a little more 'highway' than the AT.

My wife's Windstar is on its second set of Michelins.

I also have heard good things about the Michelin. However, I bought the Firestone Destination LE for my truck. They have great wet traction and are quieter than the BFG Long Trail T/As I had previously. I posted this when I got them.

Also, in that linked post I said "They are the 3rd rated Highway All-Season on TireRack's Cutomer Survey." They have since moved up to #2.

I purchased the Kelly Safari SUV tires about 15 mths ago. They are quiet, get good traction and have a decent treadlife 50,000-60,000 miles. They are also a lot less expensive than the Michelins.

I'm very happy with my Michelin LTX M/S tires. Very nice ride and they're load range E.

Previously, I had Pirrelli Norseman's (LT265/75R16D). They were HORRIBLE on the hiway, but excellent off-road.

My dad has the Nitto Terra Grapplers and I literally can't believe the difference between his truck and mine as far as ride, handling, steering response, and sound. VERY impressive tire. If I wanted a 'highway' tire, definately the one I would get. But, I'm partial to my rugged looking BFG Mud T/A's...

my 2 cents?

Dunlop Radial Rover AT's have served me well beyond my expectations under all conditons. Locally, however the only one who can supply them is Sears, with a 130.00 price per tire for 285's. Up 1/3 from a few years ago cuz, (i"m told) of the "Firestone" incident.....which allowed others to charge more.
The ol supply and demand ya know?

I just purchased Continentals for my 2002 S'crew at Merchants Tire. Wear 440, Traction A, Temperature A rated. $30.00 cheaper than BF Goodrichs. My 4x2 is on road only. Tires are quit and more aggessive than BF Goodriches with better wet traction.

Search www.tirekingdom.com or www.merchantstire.com.

Original equipment tire: BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A, P275/60R17 110S M&S All Season, load Rated 2337 lbs. @ 35PSI.

Repacement tires: Continental SUV P275/60R17 110S M&S,
load rated 2337 lbs. @44PSI $142.99 each.

I got some Continental Sport LT/SUV's at Wally World. 80k treadwear warranty, and blows away the Goodyear GT-II for wet traction. And the best part, literally no hydroplaning! Almost unheard of for a 275/60/17. The GT-II's had no wet traction, hydroplaned in 1/8" of water as well.
Only thing I can say for them, is that they handled great in dry weather, and were quiet.
The price was pretty reasonable, too. Something like $119-$125 a tire. I drove out with every coverage WM offered, and was something like $549? Been a year or more, but that figure sticks in my mind as the price?,,,,98

Hey Galaxy, nice truck and Mustang, but when you are ready to trade in the model in the third set of pictures, can I get first dibs? Just kidding, good luck, with all three.
