2WD Screw Winter Tire Recommendation

All,

I'm looking at moving to PA and will need some better tires for my Screw. Any recommendations as to the best kind for use all year and in snow?

Welcome to PA.

I live in Erie and drive a 2wd 96.

I have found that the tires do not matter too much if you keep some weight in the back. (I currently have Uniroyal Laredos on the back)

I keep a rubbermaid box full with a 2:1 mixture of sand and rock salt. (about 150# total)

It seems to work well in most situations, and if you do get stuck you can throw some under the tires.

Check out Tirerack's Survey Results for highway all-season tires. I don't have any experience with them as I generally buy all terrain tires. AT is probably overkill for what you want, but there are some good ones that are pretty quiet and ride well. Bridgestone Duerel AT Revo or the Yokohama Geolander AT are good. The BFG AT KO is a good tire too, btu they are generally LT rated tires which are stiffer.
