Post 97- 00 wheels interchangeable ?

I purchased some used 2000 17" wheels for my 97 f150 4x4. The lug nuts are slightly larger on the 00 wheels. I can mount them with my old lug nuts but lugs will not center in the holes. Seems like a bad idea to mount this way. Is there a lug nut or adapter to make these wheels work? Do the 97 17" wheels have smaller holes?

The '97-'99 F150's had 12mm lugs and the late '99-up use the 14mm lugs. I bought a set of '00 ORP 17" for my '99. The lug holes were as you said bigger. I simply torqued the 12mm lugs to specs and checked them periodically w/o problems. The reason this is feasible is that the wheels are hub-centric, the lugs only clamp the rim to the hub. The hub sizes are the same so all is well. This is just my experience, use w/ caution as w/ all advice. Doc
