Post 4.2 engine power loss with larger tires

I have a 4.2l v6 with 3.08 rearend and standard 235x70x16 tires. If I change to 255x70x16 tires will I notice a power loss? Has anyone done this?

I have the same set-up, when I went to 255's, the low-end was a little less. But, overall, the added looks, height, etc. its worth the small sacrifice! Doc

You lost the power cause you increased the tire size. Your rear end gearing is in the high two's now. For each inch in tire height you add, subtract 0.10 from you rear end ratio.

Get a Superchip! I have the 97 XLT SC 4X4 4.6L 3.55LS. I went from 235/70 R16's to 265/75 R16's and the chip more than made up the difference. I believe it would do the same for the 4.2L V6. Good luck!
