17" Wheels

Does anyone know of some good sites with a decent selection of 17" wheels for an F-150? I'd like to put some 275s on my truck, like the XLT sport package. I love the lightning wheels on tirerack.com, but the 295/18 tires are a *little* out of my price range.
There are a lot of flashy chrome wheels out there that I don't care for. I'd like to get some alloys or tough looking cast aluminum wheels, but they seem to be hard to find. I ordered the Lariat cast aluminum wheels on my XLT, which are "nice", but they are 16". I don't know how 275s would look on them...
Thanks.

Try www.americanracing.com. They make a few 17' wheels for the F-150's. The ones I have are an inset 6-spoke design. Look great(I think)and aren't too pricey either.

Thanks, looks like the kind of site I was after. They have a lot more of a selection than I've seen at other sites. The Atlas wheels are sharp looking wheels... Do you have a snapshot of your truck? That's the kind of setup I'd like to have.
Thanks again.

Sorry, I don't have a picture. One thing you could do though is call around and find a dealer that sells them and ask them if you can place a wheel next to the truck so you can get an idea of what it looks like. Hope this helps you out.

If you goto the photo gallery on this site, the Polk Audio truck has the Atlas's and I do believe that they are 17's and they look sharp man! I sell them at Sear's and a lot of customer's like them.

Redman,

You should also try www.prowheel.com or try the product directory on this site as it has links to several websites. I have 17" wheels on my truck as well. I had a hard time finding 17" wheels that I liked because 16" wheels seem to be more popular.

RedMan,

I have the 17" American Racing (AR) Atlas wheels on my truck, with 255/55s up front and 275/60s out back. With a 3-4 drop it looks great. I also found that AR makes special center caps for the Fords, instead of having the AR logo they have a Ford logo. Mine truck is on the reader's ride page number 5 at the bottom. What made me choose them was the Polk Audio truck. Later.

Redman,
I have the sport package! It came with the 17" rims and 285/50, take a look at my web site posted below. they are mounted on stock rims. I will be upgrading in the future. Check out the zines, there are lots of adds from many different companys like, AAA wheels & Tires, Billet, Budnik Wheels, Performance Wheel outlet, etc.
My tires grap like no tomorrow, very hard to break loose unless I stand on the brakes first, then watch out nothing but smoke, AWESOME burnouts.

Cableguy: Great looking truck, what kind of tires (brand are they). Did it make the ride rougher and is there much road noise.

When I bought my wheels a couple months ago, American Racing had two styles of 17" wheels. I mounted 275-60 Goodyear Eagle GT II tires on the Atlas 17's. You can see what this wheel package looks like by going to the Suspension forum and then into the topic called Drop Kit. There's a photo of my truck there. Hope this helps.
