Ive been in the market for new rims, I have 17 in. now on my 97 4x4 with off road pkg. The guys at the 4x4 shop said 16 in rims wont fit, because the off road pkg. uses bigger brake calipers.
Does any one know if this is true???
I would hate to order new rims and have them not fit.

 

If so thats news to me. As I recall there was no difference in braking systems between ORP, towing package, or nothing at all. Have you looked at your spare yet? If its a 16" (good chance it could be) you can try to put it on and if it fits go order your tires and if the techs say it won't fit tell them you'll be free mount/balance on it.
