Help wheel stud

Ok i have a couple bent rims on a wrecked f150 i bought and am fixing up. I bought a set of rims off ebay that are 14mm studs and two rims on the truck say 14mm. but when i go to use the lug nuts that came with the ebay rims that slide over the stud (thread dont catch at all ) My question is how can i find out what size wheels came on this truck. or could i use the wheel from ebay and just use the lug nuts that are on the truck.

thanks
newbie

A little info on this truck would be nice. 97-03 came with 2 stud sizes 12mm and 14mm. 12mm was from 97-mid 99, after that it was 14mm. This is the biggest mistake people make, they buy new wheels that are for 14mm studs and when they go to put it on their truck with 12mm studs the new lug nuts don't fit. I'll bet that if you use your old lug nuts they'll work perfect. The only difference between the 12 and 14mm lug nuts are a larger opening and different thread pitch. Stick with what was on the truck.

need to know what year...

1) you might need 12mm studs, although you say your current 2 wheels are 14mm, so that leads me to think:
2) the guy who you bought the wheels from gave you lug nuts that arent the right size.

but without knowing the year we can't tell you what size you need

if the 14mm ones that came with your other wheels slide over the wheel studs then you have 12mm (post the year of the truck so we know for sure). Just use the lug nuts the CAME WITH THE TRUCK. Just because the wheels were off a truck that had 14mm studs doesn't mean you need to run 14mm studs or lug nuts for it to fit right. Just put it on your 12mm studs (probably what you have) and put your 12mm lug nuts that came on the truck on and you will be fine. Man I get dejavu typing this.............just seems like I just typed this out already.
