Tire Selection
I have my fabtech 3.5" spindle lift on, but now I'm finally going to get some new rubber. Problem is that I have the stock 16x7 rims. The biggest I can go is 285/75/16 which I would love to get the BFG AT/KO, but the least expensive I've seen it for is $166/per tire.
On the other hand, If I go to a more inexpensive tire, like the Dunlop Radial Rover, etc. I can afford the 16x8 rims that I want (AR Baja) and get the 33x12.5x16 This gives me an extra inch in width. It'll only cost $120 or so more if I go this route.
What are your opinions, and is the extra inch in width worth the extra $$$
I don't do much off-roading, but I want the tire to be durable, have great tread design, and be as big as possible.

congrats on the lift, I'm still savin up for mine. Nice website too! I'd say go with wider. Unless you drive 100 miles a day, you won't notice the difference in tread life. Plus the rims will look a lot better. If you want cheap rims, get the rockcrawler rims, they are just like the American Eagle style black wagon wheel rims but they are only $50 or so for the 16x8's. Then you can get 33x12.5 bfg's and the new rims. Although, I don't think bfg makes a 33x12.5r16, you might have to go to a 16.5" rim.
Good luck though!

I went with the BFG, without rims. Rims were just too much more money. Maybe I'll do it on the next set. Just to let everyone know that I have the NEW Fabtech spindles, not the 3", but the 3.5" and it rubbed with simple 285/75/16. I had to trim down the front valence. I think this is because the new spindles pop the tire out sooo much. It's a very noticeable difference the track width of the front compared to the back. Is there anything I can put on the back tires, etc. which will bring my back tires out more?
