Question Problems with 16.5x9.75 with 33" BFG mud-terrains?????

Well I went to discount tire to get some opinions from a friend who worked there and they said they the 16.5x9.75 wheels dont sit like a normal 16 in. rim and he said that the BFG MT ride real stiff and make a lot of noise, enough to make a call on a cell phone hard. Could anyone running this combo give me an opinion or anyone that knows alot about this setup could give me some opinions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I can't comment on the MT's because I have the BFG AT's in the 33/12.50/16.5...but I do that rim size. (16.5x9.75)

I haven't had any problems, and the tires run smooth as silk. I can imagine the muds to be a lot louder, but not too much stiffer..? I've heard great things about the BFG Mud Terrains. Also, everyone I know around this area is running the 16.5x9.75 wheels too...I think they are pretty common!

I agree with DGreen, because I've got the exact setup he does. My 16.5" wheels work fine. They "sit-out" just as 16" or 17" wheels would b/c they have the same backspacing as the other sizes. As far as the BFG Muds go, they are not bad at all. I've currently got the BFG AT's on my truck and they ride smooth as can be, but I have friends with MT's and they are not noticably louder. Just my 2 cents.
