Wheel Lock Removal
Anyone have any ideas on how to remove some Gorilla Wheel locks off if you have misplaced the key and the reorder slip? I know I can tear up some sockets, but I would rather not if anyone has some ideas.
Thanks in advance!

Mister SVT,
Your local (good) tire shop should be able to help you out. They usually carry a variety of wheel lock keys. Also, some towing companies equip their drivers with a set of wheel lock keys.

I usually find an old socket that "almost" fits onto the wheel lock - then I get a hammer and lightly hammer the socket onto the lock... I've removed 20 or so locks this way without ever damaging a wheelstud. A 12-point socket works MUCH better than a 6-point socket on most wheel locks. After seeing how easy it was to remove wheel locks, I stopped using them.
Most tire shops have a master set of wheel lock keys but they probably don't have any aftermarket keys like Gorilla. If your good you can torch it off without hurting the stud. But the socket idea is easier. I've never ruined a socket either. Just put the socket in a bench vise and pound the lug nut out of it. If all else fails you can torch the lock and the stud then replace the stud (it's only a ten minute job).

I would first try contacting Gorilla and get a copy of the key or if time is of an issue I would visit a local tire shop to see what they co do. Then you could always do what I did to a set of locking lugs one time. Take a cold chiesel and a BFR (Big Friggin Hammer) and spin/cut them off, but I guess this would only work for some types of wheels. With soem of the wheels now days the lugs set so deep into the rim you can't get anything in there but a thin wall deep well socket.
