Post Spare question

For those of you who have switched to larger tires, what did you do with the stock spare tire? i wanna get rid of it and lose the weight. Is that wise, or does it make sense to keep it just in case. Should i get a 5th tire to match? any suggestions....

Well I would reccommend that you don't lose the tire. If you get a flat somewhere and you don't have a spare then you are SOL. Now having larger tires and a small spare is not good, you should at least be able to get somewhere to get it fixed. Right now I have 285s on my truck and my spare is a 235 (not a good combination). The more miss-matched the tires are the more potential for damage there is. Axles don't like to have a tires spinning at 2 radically different speeds. The best thing to do is to get a larger tire, a 285 should just fit inside the frame where the existing frame is. I would just go find a cheap used tire that can be used to get you to a tire shop.

My 2 cents worth

If you're gonna stroke it, POWERSTROKE IT!!!
