Question What Size Tires???

What is the biggest tire I could put on my 1997 F-150 extcab 4x4 with 16" rims? I would Like 33x11.50 or maybe 33x12.50. I dont want them to rub though.

Thanks

My 305/70R16's fit nicely on my SCrew 4x4...no rub. They are the equivalent to 33x12.50's.

Ditto to what MangeMD said, but it may depend on the wheel you choose. If it has a deep offset it may rub a little. My 305's come close to rubbing the front when cornering. A deeper dish wheel may rub a bit, though I've heard some people trim the corner a bit.

Did you guys change gear ratios for the 305's? If not, is there much difference in mileage and pulling/hauling power?

Thanks in advance.

How deep is your offset?

-3mm on the 16x8
Better verify your bolt pattern. From what I understand the early model '97s had 5 on 5.5" and the later model '97s and newer have 5 on 135mm.
The 16.5x9.75 wheel has a -19mm offset, which is why they'll probably rub.
