Smile 23' Wheels 2003 XLT STD Cab

I have just installed a set of 23" mags on my 2003 F150 and am pleased with the result.

What is required to recalabrate the speedo. I think I heard that because the speedo is electronic this is done via a chip.

Can someone let me know more about this.

Thanks

You may not have to recalibrate depending on the size of your new tires. Calculate the diameters of your old tire size and your new tire size (or use one of online tire diameter calculators).

If it is off by more than about 5%, you could recalibrate. Whether it is mechanical or electronic adjustment depends upon the year/model of your truck. A 2003 is not mechanical so it would require a simple parameter change - a dealer or other shop with the proper programmer tool can do it.
