My buddy and I have identical trucks with his being 1999 and mine 2000. Same wheels and tires too. Does anyone know why his door post tire pressure sticker recommends 42lbs front and rear, while mine in 2000 reads 50lbs front and 60 lbs rear? I asked my dealership and a tire sales shop here and they don't know. I have emailed the q to Ford, but they haven't answered.

 

That seems like a lot, are you sure you're not reading the max load psi? My label says 35psi all around, and then most tires have a max load rating...

No, I am not reading it wrong. The trucks came with LT245/75R-16 tires on the stock polished aluminum wheels. The max rating on the tires is at 66lbs and the door post recommends 50 front and 60 rear. One thing a tire sales rep said is that the door post recommendation must be followed in seperation although not in pressure.

 

for what it's worth, my 1999 had a recall for the sticker on the door jamb. I'm not sure what it says now, but i run my orp 265's at 36psi.
