Question Wondering about those stock plastic caps

Well every year I say to myself "I will remove them so by spring they will be like new!" But I end up forgetting about them

So with all the salt from the roads some of my caps are becoming greenish? It doesn't look bad until you look real close, but give it a couple of years and I will have to change them!

Here comes my question:
I wanted to know what it would look like if I got rid of the covers, got chrome lugs and some new centre caps which fit behind the wheel like older models! I have the basic 97 16" alum. XLT wheels. I took them off to see what the look was and it made the wheels look a little tougher! My wheels BTW are all scratched from off-roading so if I ever make enough money to change them I will get some black wheels to give my truck a better off-road look and less "scratchable" or actually more paintable LOL

So has anyone replaced the factory plastic wheel centres? If so have any pics? I'd like to see! If I don't sell my truck (and believe me I'm not trying very hard ) this spring I plan on doing a VERY THOROUGH detail job on the truck! From top to bottom

Actually I can't wait so I will rant a little about that on another forum

I had one of my center caps fly off the thing is I didn't know when or where it flew off so I went to the local tire dealer that does my service and he looked to se if he had any and he did and it was free of charge so until you get some new rims you might try the local tire dealer and see if they have any center caps they can give you or sell you depending on how they are.

JCWhitney has replacement center caps for 69.95 for a set of four. Can't buy singles. you can probably get four from JC for price of one from dealer.

Cool

Thanks guys, but maybe I worded it wrong? I mean replacing the factory center caps with some aftermarket caps? And some Chrome lugs like this:

And aftermarket hub covers with maybe some spinners?

And you know hub covers:

I've not seen any chrome lug-nuts that will work with the factory rims. Most, like those you pictured above, are "acorn"-style and require a tapered hole in the rim.

Also, most, if not all, hub-centric wheels come with "snap-on" center caps. The kind you show in the bottom pic won't work.
