It still rides like stock to me. As far as milage, it's hard to tell. I haven't corrected my speedo/odometer. My speedo is of 5mph, so my odometer is off also.
You could fit a 285/70-17 (33x11.50), 305/70-17 (34x12.50) or even a 315/70-17 (35x12.50) on the stock 17's. You would need a lift to easily fit the 35's though, or you would have to crank up your torsion bars and trim the front bumper's lower plastic valance. I've seen several people fit the 315/70-17 BFG AT KO's on stock 4x4's and using the stock rims seems to be the key. I think most people have tried to make the 315 BFG's fit because they are so cheap. THey are the OEM tire on the H2 Hummer and are actually cheaper than 33 or 32 inch BFG's.

Thanks wandell.

What's involed with correcting the speedo anyway? Is that possible? I used to have a Toyota 4x4 with big tires and I really hated the speedo being screwed up...

You can correct the speedo/odometer with one of the aftermarket computer tuners like the ones made by Hypertech and Superchips. The dealers can correct them also, to a certain point. I don't beleive they can callibrate them for a larger than OEM size, and the tallest tire offered is 32 inches tall (265/70-17).

-CCarrara-

i have an 02 fx4 supercrew xlt. i have it with the stock rancho suspension and i have the procomp at 33/12.50/17's on there with no rubbing or trimming. i'm getting ready to upgrade the rims as well. unfortunately they say i can only go as wide as 17X8 without a lift. as for recalibrating your speedo...i have the hypertech powerprogrammer III and it will recalibrate up to a 34" diameter tire. hope any of this info helps.

Thanks for the info. Funny, I kinda got frustrated looking for a decent rim/tire setup, and just ended up putting it on the back burner for a while. But I have snow here today and noticed my truck is all over the place cause my tires don't have any tread left.

So I was just online searching some sites again. I'm finding alot of nice setups at grat prices on www.discounttiredirect.com

Who's telling you you can't go wider than the 17 X 8? I found a nice rim that is 18 X 10 I really like, and a Nitto A/T tire that fits it: 285/60R18

What you guys think? Will they work/fit?

I installed 285/60/R18 Kuhmos on 18x9.5 Lightning wheels without any problem at all...

What did you do with your old wheels / tires? Are you going to sell them? I might be interested. I am in Blue Point, just up the road from ya.
