When it comes to OEM tires:

OWL=Outlined White Letters
BSW=Black Sidewall

When you are ordering tires for a new F-150, you'll notice the standard tires are BSW and you are ordering 5. When you select OWL, these are optional and you receive 4. The spare tire is a BSW and ugly as hell.

My advise when it comes to OEM tires is they generally suck in all adverse conditions. Get the standard BSW tires and replace them with a good A/T tire as soon as you can.
