315-70-17

The best price i have found on the 315-70-17 BFG AT's is 124 at tire rack, but once you pay tax and shipping they are over 150 a tire. I think this is still reasonable, but does anyone know of a better (cheaper) way? Keep in mind that i would like to get some new tires.
thanks
jesse

Check COSCO warehouse, got the same price for my Bridgestone Deulers as the Tire rack with mounting and balancing and no shipping charge. I put these tires on my Pathfinder and like them so far ( 3 MONTHS OLD). They also carry BFGoodrich and Michelin tires. I have a FX4 Scab in Drk Shadow Gray on order and hope it will be here before Christmas. I will be heading to Cosco for some 285x70x17 BFG's right after delivery.

What did you end up getting?

I'm trying to decide between the 285's & 315's. It seems like the 315's are easier to buy. I called a few places and they all had the 315's in stock, but none of them had the 285's. Can someone tell me the difference between 285's & 315's? I'm looking to put them on a 2002 F-150, FX4, 4x4, Super Crew, 5.4. Thanks!!!

285/70-17 is 33x11.50
315/70-17 is 35x12.50, 2 inches taller and an inch wider than 285's are.

Angry

got the lift and tires put on. everything looked great and i was very pleased. the same night that everything was finished someone fell asleep behind the wheel and ran into the back of my truck. luckily she left a note, and her insurance is paying for the 5000 dollars worth of damage. the funny thing is there was no body damage! supposed to be done on friday so i will get some pictures on here soon after that.

The 315's will fit with just a torsion bar twist and maybe a touch of plastic trimming(but it is not totally necessary). i have a friend that has them on his fx4 and they look awesome. i will be getting those when my nittos wear out.

Yes, the 315's fit with a body lift. also my torsion bars are cranked up. i did notice that when the wheel was fully turned there was an ever so slight rub in the front. i am guessing it was the front valence, which i will trim a little when i get the truck back. i was supposed to get it back today, but now it looks like monday. i am sure everyone knows how that goes. i will let yall know when i find out.

Before you get to cutting on your valance, check to make sure you're not rubbing on the frame somewhere. I'm almost positive, without seeing your truck of course, that the frame is the culprit. My 315's only rub on the frame, I just pay attention not to let the tires turn all the way to lock. Just turn them all the way, and back off a hair, and it'll probably stop. And that's without a body lift (yet) and minor valance trim.

Take some white out and paint the valance where you think it's rubbing, and take it for a drive about 5 miles or so, turning into various driveways as you go. Chances are they never hit the valance at all.
