Post Warning

To anyone with the Goodyears Wrangler AP tires that came stock on your truck replace them before you have one of them Blow out while driving as I had one Blow out this past week when I was on vacation there was no nail in it and it had proper air presure in it so there has to be some kind of factory defect with the goodyear tires as well not just the firestone deal thats been going on for the past few months.

If you feel the tire was defective it should be reported here: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Angry

The tire had 18,000 when the right front blew. Turns out it wasn't a defect in the tire but from when I hit a big pot hole in the raod in a construction zone. About 100 miles before it blew I hit the hole very hard as I was going over the speed limit I thought the front wheel came off thats how hard I hit. I checked it out at the next exit it looked fine and kept going until it blew out not only do I have to get a new tire now a rim as well.

Well, I guess it's still safe to buy Good Years, but I already ordered my new set of BFG's last week.

I wonder if I'm the first to post this to this board. A couple of days ago, the Kalamazoo Gazette had an article about Goodyear Wrangler AP load range E tires having an 'issue' (my term) with tread or ply separation. It seems that the nylon wrap discussed and overdiscussed relating to the Firestone tires may be a factor.

I've seen Wrangler AP load range E's only on trucks bigger than F150's however.

Hmmm, it seems they are not so safe after all. Anyway the BFG's are coming. 54K miles with the RT/S is more than enough.
