I paid $80 set for the (highly recommended) ceramic pads from NAPA. The premium metallic pads were $65 a set. Well worth the $15 upgrade. I also needed new rotors. You should replace the rotors along with the pads. This is where it gets expensive, I don't really remember the exact price...I want to say $90 or so apiece?
I did all the work myself, not to hard, but depends on YOUR skill level.
The ceramics give off little to no brake dust! Again, well worth it!

Do you guys have the factory rear discs as well? Just wondering if they come apart the same as front discs. Do I need some special tools to get the front discs off since mine is 4x4? I know on the older 4x4's a special socket was needed to help get the hubs apart.

just a big hammer stepside no hub to take apart on any 4x4
f-150 after 96 18mm bracket mounting bolts and ussually 13 mm caliper bolts on the front 10 mm caliper bolts on the rear disc once you pull caliper it swings up then out ussually. rear disc can be a bear to get off the parking brake shoes sometimes stick to inside of rotor when you try and beat them off

It's not hard to do. I put on PowerSlot rotors up front and hawk hps pads all the way around. The PowerSlots cost about $185 forthe pair (free shipping), and the pads were around $65 (+shipping) for frotns and $60 (+shipping) for the rear.

TheHawks put off a lot of dust. If I did it again I would proably go w/ the Hawk HP SuperDuties or EBCs 6000.
I haven't had any problems w/ the Hawks, they just seem to put off a lot of dust.

oh yeah, PowerSlots are just slotted Brembos
