Lightning Wheel Update
Based upon previous posts, I ordered Lightning wheels for $700/ set through Tony at Downs Ford in Toms River NJ @ 800 378-3673. www.DOWNSFORD.com
Wheels arrived via UPS in good shape; $64 all the way to Oregon.
Boxes had big orange stickers warning that these wheels were P/N L189 for '99 12mm studs, not M189 for 2000 model 14mm studs.
Tony reassured me over the phone that they were fine. Presume
these were leftovers that were factory redrilled to fit 14mm.
On Monday I finally received the F-150 that i ordered back in March.
(Another long long sad story entirely.)
Wheels fit right up with NO CLEARANCE PROBLEMS.
Used stock lugnuts as they almost disappear back in the hub recess.
Mounted Toyo PROXES S/T 285/60VR-18's, only about an inch taller,
but vastly larger than stock 275/60-17 Goodriches, for $811 total.
Anybody want to buy my takeoffs, write metamorfdzn@home.com
And tell Tony howdy for me when you order yours.
