I am considering replacing my Goodyear Wrangler P255 70 16 w/ Michelin LTX A/T LT265 75 16 tires. This is on a 98 F-150 w/ the E40D tranny and 3.55LS rear.

How much power loss will I see? Also, has anybody done this and replaced the speedo gear? What tooth gear do I need to get from Ford?

You will barely even notice it...especially with the 5.4...I have done it on 3 of my Fords and it works out great....Dave

Hi there......Dude , I don't know if our truck is 4x4 or not, but I just put 285/75/16's on my 4x4 , and I have the 4.6. There is a slight loss in torque, but I used to have those crappy Goodyears, NEVER buy firestone......they are garbage. Why not throw 285's on your truck? Trust me it looks AWESOME, rides GREAT, and when the guy put them on for me he had a ramp to check "wheel stuff" Even with the suspension stuffed in the wells at all four corners, and lock to lock there wasn't any rubbing. And my truck is stock without the ORP.
