Unhappy ABS Light, Truck won't move from PARK!

Can anyone help me figure this out., my ABS light came on on my way home from lunch today, once home the ABS light remained on and now won't shift out of PARK. Any suggestions? I don't really want to pay to have it towed to the dealer ship. The truck is a 1997 F-150 automatic.

A sensor has failed.
It would be the one that tells the transmission that you have your foot on the brake.

This happened on my wife's Windstar. I pulled 'a liittle too hard and snapped the gearshift off. It dangled by the Overdrive wire .
Dealer fixed under warranty.

You could try rocking the vehicle.
Get some friends to help.
Thje windstar did come out of park once after that by rocking, (with Vice Grips on the gearshift nub)

I "think" you can put the truck in neutral before you start it, which would allow you to at least drive it to the dealership. I believe the BOO switch (Brake On/Off) switch/sensor has failed.

Yep it probably was that switch.

I call everything a sensor because it makes me sound smarter.

Check your brake lights.

Bet they don't work.

The ABS light is probably a different issue.
