Hey everyone, new guy here with a burning question now that payday just came around...

I've had the stock 235/75-16 setup on my 97 Stand Cab/Short Bed since I got it one year and 30K miles ago... well now the tires are just about useless and I'm ready to plus-size in the hopes of getting a little more handling (and looks of course) out of my baby... question is, how far do I go? I was originally gonna go the Lightning route, 295/45-18, figuring if it's good enough for the SVT guys then it's good enough for me, but now I'm wondering if maybe 20" wheels with lower profile tires than the L's would be a better choice? Just how bad could I expect the ride to be on an average street or highway? Any opinions on the better handling/ softer ride trade-off would be GREATLY appreciated!!


Oh and on a sidenote, anybody had good or bad experiences with wheel adapters? I haven't been overly impressed with the selection of wheels out there with our bolt pattern, and was thinking of ordering a custom-made set of adapters so that I could have more wheels to choose from... does $150 sound about right for that?
