Post Biggest Tire For Stock 4X2?

Ok, I'm cheap and desperate for some bigger meats. What is the biggest size I can fit on my stock 4X2 with my stock 16inch rims. Any help would be appreciated.

Cool

I just purchased Bridgestone Dueler H/L 275/70 16. I have had them in some rough terrain and there is no problem with rubbing. The tires are the best I have ever owned on a truck, I like them much better than the Michelins.

The 275/70's will be a little wider. If you are going for height, then 265/75's are just a tad taller and the largest tire that is reccommended.

I have Yokohama 285/70/16 on a 4X2 V6, they fit without rubbing against anything. You will loose some bottom end with this setup, but I plan on puttin a chip in soon to recover some of it back....

Good Luck....

Thanks guys. That is great info. Ok, just one more question. What does each of the numbers represent as the size of the tire? I have never really known how to read them.

Thanks again,

Bones- I went with the 265/75/16 Mud Terrains and they just make it, without rubbing. They look great too. You can see them at the website.

Bones,

285/75/16 = 32.8" tall, 11.50" wide.

265/75/16 = 31.6" tall, 10.50" wide.

For 265/75R16 the 265 = the width of the tire in metric 'mm'. The 75 is a ratio of the sidewall height. It is the measurement from the edge of the wheel to the ground. In this case you would multiply 265*.75 to get 199 mm. The 16 is the wheel size. For the conversion to standard sizes check out this site:

Ok, so does everyone think I could stuff 285/75/16's. I really don't mind a little rubbage as long as it is not excessive. Thanks for the info on reading the tire size 19-SeventyFord. That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again everyone.

In doing the math, and keeping everything in calibration, a 275/65 R16 is within spec, and will put almost 2" more tread on the ground.

No clearance problems at all, as the circumference is nearly the same. You will not even need to worry about the speedo.

Keep an eye on my thread "275/65/R16's???" for more info!
