Post Tire Rack experiences

I went to my local bridgestone dealer today to price some potenza s-02's. They quoted me $2000 for 4. At tirerack.com the same tires are only $1400. Has anyone ordered from tire rack before? Because the tire rack price was actually lower than dealer cost for the tires, I was a little concerned about the tire rack tires being of decent quality. I have heard that they use factory seconds and thus can get such low prices.

What have your experiences been with the tire rack? good? bad?

I never dealt w/ them. I have dealt w/ Discount Tire Co. which is also America's Tire depending on your area.

They are very competitive and price match anybody. I even had them price match their own mail order division www.discounttire.com

I think this is better than having to wait for your shipment and also you can see the goods right away.

BTW you must be buying some big tires that cost that much.

The tires are for a lightning. I need tires that are at least Z rates in a 295/45-18 or 295/35-18

Nathan,

I grew up in South Bend, IN and have visited the Tire Rack office many times. I have seen the warehouse, shop and the office set up. It is big and impressive operation.

I now live in Indy (2 1/2 hours south) and I have purchased 3 sets of tires from them via UPS. For less than $ 40.00 shipping, I can't even drive my truck to South Bend and back that cheap.

I have always received Excellent Customer Service and fast shipping (UPS ground). Every tire that I had purchased was a new tire (no seconds or blems)

I highly recommend them.

Just like the two previous posts, I enjoyed dealing with the Tire Rack - very good prices, quick shipping, etc. However, be sure to find a "tire changer" before you make your purchase. I had a tire dealer tell me once - "don't bring your own ham and eggs to MY kitchen and expect me to cook for you."

Nathan, Disount tire and NTB has always matched or beat the Tire Rack..hell they advertise it....They may add the shipping cost but they have always done good by me...Talk to Bill at the Dezavala/ 10 store tell him Dave sent you to him..He may help you out..Has always done good by me...He is also a Ford fan, you may have to give him a ride though....Dave

PS..ask him about the factory seconds also..i dont put the white letters out so it wouldnt bother me any..my next set will be factory seconds..you cant tell and they come with the same warranty..my .02..
