Question 2000 Wheel Options

I am trying to determine how exactly the wheel options have changed for 2000. The 2 Ford dealers I have looked at have a limited inventory but this is what I have observed:

2WD XL Reg Cab: Same as 1999

2WD XLT Reg Cab: Same as 5 spoke 16" aluminum for 97-98 Expedition

2WD XLT Super Cab: Same as 99 Lariat 16"

4WD XLT Reg Cab ORP: Same as 97-98 17" ORP

I have yet to see a 2000 Lariat. Does it have an all-new wheel design? Also, does anybody know which wheels a 4wd XLT Reg Cab with 16" aluminum will get? Will it get the old expededition wheels I saw on the 2WD RC or the ones like the 99 Lariat, or luck of the draw?

According to Ford's 2000 "poster" (they don't have a full blown brochure yet), the standard Lariat wheel is a 17" chromed steel 5-spoke with chrome hub.

If you get the ORP with the 2000 Lariet you get the old 97-98 cast aluminum wheel.
I thought it kinda stunk when my 2000 arrived with the "old" wheels. The dealer did offer to allow me to upgrate to the newer wheels and the GY AT/S lt tires for a couple hundred dollars, but I passed. Not sure why Ford chose to go back to the old wheel for the ORP. Were there problems with the 99 ??

My brother has a '99 Lariat ORP with the 5-spoke chrome wheels and has had no problems. Also saw them on a 2000 Expedition EB at the dealer. I wish Ford would let you order the exact wheel you want, especially since they are basically the same price.

The standard XLT 16" wheel is the polished alum Swoop wheel, you can get the 5spoke alum if you request (NO charge code 642). The 17" is only available on the sport and 4x4 ORP which are the same swoop alum wheels as on 99's.
