Question All Terrain Tires????

Ok I have been looking for a long time now for the best all terrain tire. I have a 97 F-150 with a stock size of 265/75 on a 16" rim. I want to go a bit bigger, but I also want a tire that looks really aggressive that will last me forever. I was thinking about Dunlop Radial Rovers, or Bridgestone Dueler Revo's, or BFGoody's, or even Toyo's. Any help would be much appreciated. I need to know if anyone is running any of these tires... Thanx

I'm running the REVO's on my '99. Very pleased. Excellent ride, quiet (amazingly so looking at the gaps in the tread), excellent rain traction and does well off road. Can't comment on tread life (warranty is 50,000 miles) or snow traction (yet). If they last like my previous set of Dueler AT D693's (old tread pattern, also with 50,000 mile treadlife warranty), 50,000 shouldn't be a problem.

I have the BFG AT's and they are a good tire. I had some Cooper Discoverer AT's before that and they were a very nice tire as well. When my BFG's wear out, I will either go back to the Coopers or give the Bridgestone Revo's a chance.
Any of those tires your looking at will work very nice.

Thanx

Hey thanx for all of the input guys... I am still having a hard time, but I am leaning towards that Dunlop Radial Rover RV's or the General Mud Terrains. Anyone have any thoughts on these tires? Again thanx for anyone who told me what they had it helps out a lot. I still am also thinking about the BFG's. Anyone know of an AT with a really good tread life???
Tahnk you

Hello Filthy Fifty,

I have had many trucks and an assortment of AT and MT tires, the best AT's I have found are the Discoverer ST's by Cooper. They very aggressive for an AT but have an excellent highway ride and offer good tread life, and are fairly inexpensive unlike the BFG's.

Ive also been considering what tires to get for my truck. For now, Im just gonna let these Pathfinder Radial ATRs die (they came with the truck), and then after that I want to try out the Bridgestone Revo 265/75R16s, heard alot of good stuff about em from friends. Of course, the BFG AT KOs are always nice, but they're also ~$20 more per tire than the bridgestones.

I always get directed here:

http://www.tirerack.com

They list a good few tires and their comparisons, as well as alot of user reviews.

I was originally going to get the BFG TA Kos because they were cheap in the 315/70/17 size but I ended up going with a Pro Comp A/T in a 33x12.5 because its slightly smaller and should fit better. Also they were highly recommended to me by a friend. www.4wheelparts.com has a deal where you buy 3 tires and get the 4th free. this is for pro comp tires only.

I have got the best tread wear from BFG A/T tires. On my jeep I got 50k from one set and 30K on my second set when I traded it in on my 2000 F150 and there was still plenty of tread left. I'm not sure how they will fair on my truck but when it comes time to replace them I am going with the BFG tires. Any other tire I got only got me 20K and they were bald. GoodYear and bridgestone didn't last for anything and didn't feel like they had any better ride or traction vs the BFGs.

Different vehicles can wear tire quicker than others but BFG has never done me wrong.

I have yet to hear of any feedback on the Dunlop Radial Rovers or Mud Rovers either. I have been considering the Mud Rovers for some time now because they are by far the cheepest mud tire in the size I need. I guess nobody likes to buy dunlops

I am currently running Procomp MT tires and I love them. I got about 35k out of them and they are still going. They are wearing really nice and evenly and should have about 40k on them before the wear bars are all showing. So this is what I will probably go with again but if the Dunlops will meet and exceed what I got with the Procomps, I will go with them because they are cheeper. So please, if you are running the Dunlops, let us know what you think of them.

BFG has always been my favorite tire but I can't see spending the extra cash for them.

Dunlops

Yeah I have been looking into the Dunlop Mud Rovers as well. Just to give you some feed back on them.. I don't have them yet, but my buddy has them and they last a really long time. He is a die hard Dunlop fan now. Also you can check out www.tirerack.com they have a section where you can search for tires by brand, and they have a bunch or reviews from people who have bought them. They even go as far as tell you as to their driving style and if they drive mostly on road or off. I am going to go with the Mud Rovers just because of the price, and they are an aggressive tire. Good Luck with tires everyone.
Rock On.... You guys have helped a lot.

I just recently replaced my Wrangler RTS tires with BFG all terrains. I love them. They are rather pricey, but several places will beat the lowest price you find. Onlinetires.com has the stock 265/70/17's that came on my truck for $160 each. That is the cheapest price I found on the internet. Sears has these tires also, and will beat the lowest price you find by 10% of the difference. Sears list them at $185.99 each, so the price was $157.40 each. By far, the lowest price I have seen. 4 Wheel Parts list them at $177 each, and quoted me $155 in their store, but they did not have my size in stock, so I went to Sears and paid a few dollars more.

I wouldn't buy anything else, and at $157 each, there is only a $14 difference between BFG, and other brands.
