Brake Heat/Performance After tire change
Brake Heat/Performance After tire change
I recently replaced my goodyear P255 70R16 stock tires with BFG TAKO's 365 75R16. So there's a little bigger and maybe heavier but i wouldn't think that much.
I feel like when i brake it's taking longer to stop and that they have to work harder. I got home from the beach tonight (maybe a 30/40) mile trip with not a lot of stopping and both the front and rear rims were hot as crap.
What gives - anybody else run into similar issues? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
thx

fyi - i'm almost at 75K miles and still have original breaks, but last time a did a tire rotation at 7ok, there was a lot of pad left on all four wheels.

Larger diameter tire will give you a greater lever arm and therefore more torque acting on your axel that your brakes have to work against.
Thats my best wild assed guess.
If that's not correct, I'll go back to my
