Goodyear Mt/R Vs. T/aKo and Km

Im going to need tires soon, and would like some opinions. I have an '02 F-150 FX4 and a 6600payload. I need a tire that will work in all terrain, mud ( not 3 ft puddles just 1 ft mud ) Snow, and a lot of street. I also want something that will give my truck a really good look. But REALLY important i need wear life. I dont want a tire that will be bald really fast. I dont want to get an all off road tire and have it wear that ill have to replace them next year. Im debating between the Goodyear MT/R 305/70-17 and the 285/70-17 T/A KO's and T/A KM's
anything you can give me will be appriciated
thanks a lot
Ryan

I've got over 40,000 on a set of 265 mt/r's. I'm shooting to get 50,000 out of them. They are really good in the mud, and snow and rain have not been a problem either. I've had several sets of the bfg at's and they were good tires, just a typical at in the mud though. The mud t/a is a better off-road tire, but it is louder than the mt/r.

Good luck,
Rich

I haven't tried the MTRs, but the AT/KOs go great for me in some seriously muddy stuff. I love the BFGs, and they go WAY better than the Wranglers, but those MTRs look like they would go awesome, too!

Sounds like you need the BFG MT KM's or Goodyear MTR's. Honestly, they are so close in performance, I'd get the one I could get the best price on. They are both excelle tires.

Just got my BFG's

Well I just purchased the 17" BFGoodrichs almost a week ago, and I freaking love 'em! They just look totally badass! Everyone I have talked to seem to tell me to get these tires so I did. They are not noisy by any means, although I do have a pretty loud exhaust so that could be why I am not hearing the tires. Can't wait for the snow!

Good information guys,,,

I have had nothing but good luck with BFG's in the past, not as happy with any Goodyear that I have owned.
Goodyear's wofk great when new, then tend to develop a slight vibration when hot after about 25000 KM's.
I have a few friends with Chebbies and Fords that have noticed the same thing. All went to BFG AT's and are hooked for life.

SanFranFan05 can you tell me more details on your 17 BFG's,

Year, sc or rc, lift or no lift, what size do you have.

I want my 03 Screw FX4 to look "Bad ***" too. My stock Goodyears are starting to shake. (30000km's).

Thanks again.

I had a local tire shop buy back my OEM tires with 250 miles on them within 72 hours of delivery and replace them with the BFG TA AT KO 285/70R17 on my '03 Supercrew with FX4 package. I removed the FX4 bed stickers an hour after delivery. I think they look a lot better than stock tires.

Sure! I have a 2000 Ford F-150 Obviously, with the off-road package, towing package, 5.4 Liter V-8, with Dual Flowmaster exhaust, SuperCab, and the 6 1/2 foot bed. The tires I have on now are the same as factory (speaking of size which is 265/70R17's. I want to have the signature that everyone else seems to have which would say all of this information but I am unsure of how you initiate it. Still excited about my tires though. And I get a lot of compliments on them as well!

Nice Pics APT! Hopefullly I will be able to ad some pics later, that is as soon as I take some! Are those 17's on that beast? Nevermind you have the size on there. Sorry! So you didn't have a problem sticking 285's on the factory rims?

PS I think I finally figured out my signature problem!
